Basic vehicle maintenance makes all of difference in the life of your car.
Brake maintenance could make the difference in your life.

Brake systems are multi-faceted structures made up of a brake pedal, hydraulic lines, pistons, cylinders, discs, pads and fluids. These components work in tandem to ensure that your vehicle's tires stop safely, efficiently, and quickly when needed. If one of these factors is not functioning optimally, the entire system can become compromised and the vehicle may not stop.

Most of today's vehicles also come equipped with anti-lock braking systems or ABS as an additional safety feature. ABS allows the car's tires to maintain traction with the road during braking to prevent the wheels from locking up and skidding.

Brakes should be checked once a year (typically during your vehicle's annual inspection) or if any of the following are noted:

  • Grinding, squeaking or chirping noise when pressing the brake pedal
  • Brake warning light or ABS light on the dashboard
  • Brakes feeling soft or spongy when pushed
  • Car taking longer than normal to come to a complete stop

Our HSE Locations can perform full diagnostic inspections on your vehicle's brake system, along with clear explanations on which components require maintenance, service or repair.
